Mission

To help those ready for personal financial presence in building simple, sustainable money habits so they can live life on purpose, not paycheck to paycheck.

Who am I?

I’m Jim Morse a financial coach (not a financial planner), husband, dad of three, and Iowa native. We have been debt-free since 2016, wooohooo! I started Game Plan Money to help others avoid those common money habits that can hold us back in life. In college I was a student-athlete (football) at Iowa Sate University. From these experiences, I bring a coach’s mindset with clear goals, simple tools, and steady accountability. These tools are designed to provide the support and game plan to help you win.

What I Do

I turn financial chaos into a clear, doable game plan. Think financial game plans for:

  • A budget you’ll actually use (without judgment)
  • A step-by-step debt payoff strategy
  • A system for saving (emergency fund + sinking funds)
  • A rhythm for paychecks, bills, and cash flow
  • Smart setup for HYSAs and short-term goals
  • Tools and check-ins that keep you consistent

Who I Coach

  • College students and recent grads getting their financial feet under them
  • Student-athletes balancing classes, training, and money
  • Early-career pros who want to get organized and build momentum
  • Anyone ready to have a better relationship with their finances.

How Coaching Works

  1. Discovery Call: Tell me where you’re at and what you want to change.
  2. Your Game Plan: I build a simple, prioritized plan tailored to your goals and real life.
  3. Coaching Sessions: 50 minute sessions focused on action and accountability.
  4. Between-Session Support: Light-touch support and practical tools so you never feel stuck.

My Approach

  • Judgment-free: Money shame isn’t helpful; honest data is.
  • Action-first: Small wins early; momentum forever.
  • Simple tools: Spreadsheet, app, or pen & paper, whatever you’ll stick with.
  • Athlete-friendly: I coach like a sport with clear reps, measurable progress, season-by-season goals.

Why “Game Plan Money”?

Winning with money isn’t about luck. It is about having a plan you can execute week after week. I bring the clarity of a playbook and the accountability of a coach.

Values I Stand On

  • Clarity over complexity
  • Habits over hacks
  • Ownership over excuses
  • Consistency over intensity
